Pricing questions

Where do your benchmark rates come from — is this just a made-up number?

No. The scan reads a benchmarked creator-rate dataset organized by niche × follower tier, refreshed on a schedule. You're seeing the range creators like you actually charge — not a guess, not a generic 'it depends.' It's a real anchor you can hold in a negotiation.

How is the 5% fee calculated — and is there any other charge?

On the Free Card plan, the 5% is taken only on the deposit amount a brand actually pays you, at the moment the deposit succeeds — nothing else. Take a $200 deposit, we take $10, you keep $190. No monthly fee, no per-card fee, no charge when no money moves. Standard Stripe processing fees apply separately. Upgrade to Close ($15/mo) and the 5% drops to 0% — you keep 100% of every deposit.

Do I have to pay anything to publish or to see my rate?

No. The benchmark scan, the pre-filled card, publishing to ratecardly.me/handle, and taking real deposits are all free. The only money we make on free is the 5% per deposit. You'll never hit a wall to see your number.

How is this different from a Linktree, a Notion page, or a rate-card PDF?

Those display a price. RateCardly closes — it captures the brief and takes a Stripe deposit in the same tap, so the deal is committed before the back-and-forth. A PDF can't book the job or stop a no-show. A link with a deposit button can.

Is taking deposits safe for me and the brand?

Deposits run through Stripe — the same checkout brands already trust. Money goes to your connected account; we never hold your funds. The brand gets a clean Stripe receipt; you get 'Deposit received — the job's booked' and the brief in your inbox. (RateCardly is not financial or tax advice — it's a tool for quoting and collecting deposits.)

Can I change my packages and prices after I publish?

Anytime. Edit a package, add a new one, retire one — your link stays the same, the card updates live. The benchmark is a starting point; the prices are yours to set. Charge above the range if your work earns it.
